Body Spa Treatments

Body Polishing

A body polish is a popular body treatment that exfoliates and hydrates your skin, leaving it smooth and soft. A body polish is primarily a treatment for the skin -- sort of like a facial for the body. It should not be confused with a massage.
A body polish can be done with any number of materials -- salt, sugar, coffee grounds, rice bran, pecan hulls -- usually mixed with some kind of massage oil and aromatic like essential oils. If the polish uses salt, it might be called a salt scrub, salt glow or sea salt scrub. The exfoliation is usually followed by a shower and an application of body lotion.

Foot Massage

Foot massage is a simple, cheap and effective method to relax your body and mind. It is based on the tenets of foot reflexology and involves applying pressure on key points in the foot to get benefits.
This technique has been practiced for many centuries for its various benefits. Our feet contain greater than 7,000 nerves. By stimulating them gently you can get pleasurable and relaxing sensations.

Head Massage

The Indian head massage, also known by the portmanteau "champissage" (chämpi—the Indian word for massage + massage), is based on the ancient Ayurvedic form of healing that dates back almost 4,000 years. It works the upper three chakras: vishuddha, ajna, and sahasrara, and can be used for physical harmony, for healing, for vitality, and for good, old-fashioned relaxation. No wonder it's becoming so popular in the west!

Back Massage

Massage was once considered a luxury, something you'd enjoy at a spa or health club. However, the benefit of a massage is now considered a more mainstream therapy and is often recommended by doctors and other medical professionals. One of the most common and beneficial parts of the body for massage is the back, since the nerves run through the spine.
A good back massage can help relieve lower back pain. After a strenuous workout or sitting at a desk all day, your back muscles are likely to be tense from overuse or repetitive use. Repetitive motion or immobility may cause neck and shoulder pain. An upper back massage may help relieve the tension in that area and reduce the pain from migraines.

Relaxation Body Massage

A full-body massage is just a way of saying that the therapist will massage your whole body during a therapeutic massage . This includes your back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, feet and hands.

Fat Drainage Massage

Fat Drainage Massage or Lymphatic massage was first used in the 1930s to improve drainage in the human body. Your lymph system helps rid your body of waste and can sometimes become blocked or sluggish. Lymph nodes are located throughout your body. This massage technique uses gentle, rhythmic strokes towards the lymph nodes to help rid the body of waste. Your muscles are not the focus in this type of massage.

Potli Massage

One of the most popular massage therapies practiced in India, potlis have been used in South East Asia as a natural remedy for centuries. Potli Massage Therapy is done using heated herbal pouches also known as potlis (or poultice) that are used to rejuvenate, relax, nourish and they have a therapeutic effect on the body.
Potli massages work on an age-old philosophy, which is based on the confluence of the elements of fire and water combined with specific herbs. When the heated potli is massaged into the body, it opens the pores and relaxes the muscles, allowing the carefully selected herbs to work on the body and mind.

Neuromuscular Massage

The most effective type of massage therapy for lower back pain is neuromuscular therapy. Neuromuscular therapy is also called trigger point myotherapy. The American Academy of Pain Management recognizes this form of massage therapy as an effective treatment for back pain caused by soft tissue injury (such as a muscle strain).
Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow. Once applied to a muscle spasm, the pressure should not vary for ten to thirty seconds.

Detox Massage

Consider going for detox massage that is not only relaxing but also aids your body in the removal of toxic waste. A detox massage can be of great support to any cleansing program you are in. It can address health conditions including fatigue, headaches, fibromyalgia, and other system dysfunctions that result from the presence of toxins in your body.
A detox massage is helpful because of the rhythmic strokes that your therapist apply to stimulate your body. Your therapist uses a combination of massage movements including irregular and altering applications of pressure that gently compress and stretch your muscle tissues.
